(Biography of Åke Lindsten) Åke Lindsten, the new elected chartiman of the National Association of Sweden was born 1921. After having passed his A-level (Östra Real) in Stockholm 1941 he studied science of government for Herbert Tingsten and Gunnar Heckscher at the University of Stockholm 1942-43. Bachelor of Arts 1944 at the same university. In 1945 he studied at Schartau (a commercial school) and passed the exam of business economists in 1951. He has held leading positions in the field of economy and rendering of accounts as well beeing employed as having run his own audit and rendering of account's office an occupation he has layd down due to his interest to devote himself only to political engagements. Åke Lindsten has for several years been associated to a lot of newspappers and periodicals. In these publications he has written articles on economy, politics and cultural matters. More over he has run his own publishing business and he has been editor of some staffpappers and a literary review. Lindsten has since his youth been lively engaged in national political engagements. Since 1973 when he entered the National Association of Sweden he has intensified his political activity. In 1975 he was elected secretary of the Swedish-Chilean Society and in this capacity he visited Chile in 1978. He has published a lot of articles in the newspapper "Fria Ord". He was appointed Knight of the order of Bernardo O'Higgins in 1978.
