Faulty computers make work and correspondence difficult. I apologise for any inconvenient consequences.
My wife Felicity's laptop computer died a few months ago. Early in June also my laptop ceased to function, because its battery needed to be replaced. Hence, for some time, there was no functioning computer in our home, and in North Cyprus, where we live, laptops for the English language could not be found, nor the battery that I needed. For some weeks I have occasionally been able to use my old computer despite its waning battery, but whenever there is a power cut, the machine dies down, and can only be revived after a very long time – sometimes several days - of charging.
Hence, I have not been able to maintain work and correspondence in a normal way.
In a few days time, Felicity will be brought back to Cyprus by our youngest daughter and her husband. In the luggage is a new laptop, but no battery. As soon as we have learnt how to use the new machine, Felicity and I will be able to communicate normally.
